Fortnite Players Point Out Classic Item That Didn't Return for Chapter 2 Remix (2024)

Some Fortnite players have pointed out that the XP Coins that littered the Chapter 2 map are missing from this season's Remix. Fortnite Chapter 2 offered players a lucrative way to earn experience with the XP Coins, but the Remix left this item in the past.

As Fortnite has evolved over the years, many new weapons and items have been introduced to the game. Classic weapons, items, and points of interest returned during Fortnite OG and the current Chapter 2 Remix. Some classic challenges have also returned, like scouring the map for gnome statues and hitting weak points with a Pickaxe. One activity that many Fortnite Chapter 2 players miss is hunting for XP Coins. These coins were placed in key locations around the Chapter 2 map, like the Lazy Lake waterfall or atop the zipline that runs from Retail Row to Steamy Stacks. Some fans have highlighted the missed opportunity in Remix omitting XP Coins from the familiar Chapter 2 sights.

Reddit user Drex678 recently shared an image of a green XP Coin from Fortnite Chapter 2 while lamenting its absence in the current season. While the Reddit user claims that fans didn't notice the missing XP Coins during Chapter 2 Remix, many responses suggest otherwise. Although Remix has brought back many classic weapons, items, and points of interest from the original Chapter 2, fewer things have returned compared to Fortnite OG. Beyond resembling Chapter 2 with familiar weapons, items, and locations, Remix also features rap legends with unique POIs that weren't present in the original. With Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix set to conclude on November 30, there are very few days for missing content to return, and some players are simply anticipating the next season at this point.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix is Missing This Key Item

Similar to the Fortnite weapons, the XP Coins ranged in rarity, with the green ones rewarding the least experience, and the orange ones rewarding the most. While the XP Coins offered a lump sum of experience when the player collected them, the goal was to collect them all to complete a Battle Pass challenge. Because Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix is a shorter season, Epic Games may not have had the time to run through each seasonal content drop like OG did. Some fans worry that Chapter 2 staples like the XP Coins, Fireflies, UFOs, and locations like Stealthy Stronghold and Colossal Coliseum may never return to the game.

As Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix is a departure from how OG revisited Chapter 1, Chapter 2 could get a proper OG interpretation in the future. Epic Games has confirmed that Fortnite OG will be a permanent mode in the future, and it will cycle through each Chapter 1 season. This may suggest that once OG has progressed through the entirety of Chapter 1, it may roll into Chapter 2.
